AF Tells Me I Have New Message, but theres nothing?

Problem:

Sometimes when people log on to AF there will be a coloured box that will tell them that they have a new message. However, when they check their inboxes there is nothing.


Answer:

This is usually caused when a mass PM is sent out. These PM's have an expiry date which deletes itself when the date arrives. If you haven't logged on when the mass PM is made and deleted your message system would say that you have a new PM but in reality it has expired.


It could also be because of the PM got expired and got cleaned out by our automated janitors. Only crew can send out expiring PMs
