All funds gathered by AsianFanatics through donations, advertisements and other services offered are directly and indirectly used to maintain the operating costs of the websites. For any particular month when donations/google ad gains do cover expenses with still some left; the money will be placed in a slush fund for the next consecutive months or used to fund the prizes for contests. Therefore, all money recieved only benefits the users.

At the time of this writing, AsianFanatics is using three unmanaged dedicated servers to serve the websites and other required software(s).

Because the income with advertisements and donations are considered "extra income" in the country where AF's owner is based and because he also have a fulltime job, we have to pay 42% taxes on all the income. Practicly cutting our income in half.

These servers are unmanaged, meaning that the hosting company only provides the hardware and network facilities for the amount of money AsianFanatics is paying. History shows us that AsianFanatics' growth requires an server upgrade/addition almost half year. Please refer to [Asianfanatics Hardware] for the currently used hardware.

All server administrations, maintenances and softwares usage tasks have to be outsourced by AsianFanatics itself. Maintaining a stable server and up-to-date software usage is a professional task. The main administrator of AsianFanatics is a professional system administrator. Although he's working for AsianFanatics at free basis, a compensation for his near 24/7 support is not out of order.

The software used for the forum is the commercial package of Invision Power Board, which requires a valid and paid license to use.

The domain names owned by asianfanatics needs to be paid for periodically. Besides paying the domain names themselves, a fee has to be paid for the DNS-services. AsianFanatics is paying a 3rd party to manage the DNS, to ensure fast and reliable DNS-functionality.

The software used for the subsites, such as the fanfiction, gallery and newsportal are developed by professional software developer(s) and is paid to be customized for use solely by AsianFanatics.

To uphold the growth of AsianFanatics, a major part of the funds gathered are used for (future) expansion and promotion for the website. To promote the website, AsianFanatics often organize contests where the contestants can win prizes. Besides contests, AsianFanatics chose to pay for advertisements.
